Preparations have been started to put an additional burden of 22 billion 56 crore rupees on electricity consumers.


An application has been submitted to Nepra for the first quarter adjustment of the current financial year.


Discos have requested to increase the tariff by 1 rupee 30 paise per unit, receive 12 billion 12 crore rupees as capacity payment, and receive an additional 4 billion 61 crore rupees for maintenance and operation.


In case of approval of the application, 6 billion 61 crore rupees will be charged for electricity theft and line licenses, while 10 billion 24 crore rupees will be collected for the use of electricity system. Nepra will take a final decision on the government discos' plea after hearing on November 14.
