YouTube's new change that users will not like at all

YouTube, the world's most popular video sharing service, is undergoing a change that you won't like at all.

If you watch YouTube videos on a television (TV), you will now see fewer ads, but their duration will be longer.

In simple words, YouTube will now show long ads during a video instead of short ads.

YouTube has been testing this change since September and has now rolled it out to all users.

Due to this change, when an ad plays in a video, an updated countdown timer will now appear in the right corner that will tell you how long the ad will play or how many seconds after you can click skip.

Previously, the top left corner of the YouTube video screen showed how many ads would be shown in a break, while also showing a countdown for each ad.

With this new change, YouTube is adding ads for TV shorts videos.

Ads were already being shown in the shorts in the mobile and web versions, now they will be experienced on the TV screen as well.

Keep in mind that YouTube has made several changes regarding ads in 2023.

Earlier in May, the company started showing non-skippable 30-second ads.

The company then banned the use of ad blockers while watching YouTube videos on TV.

Nicky Rettke, head of YouTube's ad product team, said in September that the decision to pause ads while watching a video is based on a number of factors.

He said that with this change, we will change the interval of advertisements and now while watching the video, advertisements will not be seen again and again.
