Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has said that the time for general elections is near and the elections will be held on time.


Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja chaired an important meeting related to the general elections in which the arrangements of the Election Commission and the preparations of the Punjab government were reviewed in detail.


The members of the four provinces of the Election Commission and members of the Punjab Cabinet also participated in the meeting while a briefing was also given on the security arrangements for the general elections.


During the meeting, it was also decided to appoint a focal person for coordination with the Election Commission on behalf of the caretaker Punjab government.


On this occasion, the Chief Election Commissioner said that the time for general elections is near and the elections will be held at the appointed time, everyone should ensure a fair and transparent election, they will support the caretaker government for free and fair elections.


Sikandar Sultan Raja said that the phase of constituencies will be completed by November 30.


He further said that the Election Commission is ready for transparent, free and fair elections and is satisfied with the steps taken by the Punjab government so far.


On this occasion, caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin said that all possible cooperation will be provided for the peaceful and transparent conduct of the general elections and fool-proof arrangements will be made to ensure the free conduct of the elections.
