Chairman PTI misused state secret, FIA submits challan in court

Significant progress has been made in the Cipher case in the Official Secrets Act Special Court. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) submitted the challan of the case to the special court.


FIA found Chairman PTI and Shah Mehmood Qureshi guilty in the cipher case and requested the court to punish them by trial. FIA has submitted the list of 28 witnesses to the court along with the challan.


FIA has attached 161 statements of 27 witnesses to the challan, Foreign Secretary Asad Majeed and Sohail Mehmood are also among the witnesses, Azam Khan's 161 and 164 statements are also attached to the challan.


The transcript of Chairman PTI and Shah Mehmood Qureshi's March 27 speech is also attached with the challan, including Additional Foreign Secretary Faisal Niaz Tarimzi, all Chinese witnesses from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Prime Minister are among the witnesses.


According to the challan, the Chairman PTI kept the cipher and misused the state secret, the cipher copy reached the Chairman PTI but was not returned while Shah Mahmood Qureshi gave a speech on March 27 and assisted the Chairman PTI.


It should be noted that on September 26, the special court constituted under the Official Secrets Act extended the judicial remand of PTI chairman in the cipher case till October 10. Lawyers of Chairman PTI Barrister Salman Safdar and Umeer Niazi appeared in the court, the court extended the judicial remand of Chairman PTI till October 10 and ordered FIA to provide the challan as soon as is practical.


It should be noted that Chairman PTI Imran Khan had created a narrative of conspiracy against his government based on the messages or ciphers of the Pakistani ambassador to America.
