President Arif Alvi announced a special relaxation in the punishments of prisoners on Eid Milad-ul-Nabi. It will not apply to those guilty of murder, anti-state activities, adultery and other serious crimes including terrorism.

 

The President of the country has approved a 90-day reduction in the sentences of prisoners under Article 4 of the Constitution. The reduction will not apply to prisoners involved in murder, espionage, and anti-state activities.

 

Criminals who commit adultery, theft, robbery, kidnapping, terrorism and damage to the national treasury will also not be exempted. Male prisoners over 65 years of age who have served one-third of their imprisonment will be exempted.

 

The Punjab government has announced Eid Milad-ul-Nabi as a holiday

 

According to the notification, 12 Rabi Awwal, 29 September will be a public holiday on Friday, 12 Rabi Awwal, all government institutions will be closed, notification of the holiday on 29 September has been sent to all departments.

 

Earlier, the federal government declared a public holiday on September 29 on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi ﷺ.

 

According to the announcement of the Central Sighting of the Crescent Committee, the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal began on Monday, September 18, and Eid Milad-ul-Nabi 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal will take place on September 29. There will be a public holiday on the twelfth of Rabi'ul Awwal, while all federal government institutions and all private institutions and schools that have a holiday on Saturday, September 30, and Sunday, October 1, there will also be holidays.
