LAHORE: Muslim League (N) spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb has said that regardless of the Senate resolution, the election schedule will be followed, while other parties, crying or shouting, the election will be held on February 8.


While talking to the media in Lahore, Maryam Aurangzeb said that the resolution that was passed in the Senate yesterday was opposed only by the (N) League, PTI supported the resolution in the Senate, under the conspiracy of the PTI, the first Lahore High Court went and then supported the Senate resolution, these people remain silent inside and beat the drum outside.


He said that people of Pakistan will not vote for these people by sitting in jails and stop threatening them. The people of Pakistan want elections. This country is now going to be handed over to those of May 28, Article 6 should be applied to those of May 9, they said they wanted to burn the whole country on May 9, then the workers did it, now the workers are suffering, they got this opportunity when the terrorists of May 9 They were called good to see, people know these people.


Maryam Aurangzeb said that the Muslim League (N) is fully prepared for the election. (N) League should take a decision on February 8 as directed by the Election Commission, the decision has to be taken by the people of Pakistan, we are not going to do dramas outside the assemblies.


He further said that regardless of the Senate resolution, the election schedule will be followed, other parties, cry or scream, the election will be held on February 8, the schedule of Muslim League (N) meetings will be decided next week.


Senate resolution on election

It should be remembered that yesterday the upper house (Senate) passed the resolution to postpone the general elections to be held on February 8 in the country by majority vote.


14 members of the House were present when the resolution to postpone the election was approved in a meeting presided over by Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani. The resolution was presented by Independent Senator Dilawar Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and included members of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and FATA. Hidayatullah gave the resolution his support.


PTI Senator Gurdeep Singh and PPP member Bahramand Tangi remained silent while PML-N Senator Afnanullah opposed the resolution.
