Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has issued a show-cause notice to Senator Gardeep Singh for not indicating the quorum during the approval of the resolution to postpone the elections in the Senate.

The notice was issued by Central Secretary General Tehreek-e-Insaf Umar Ayub Khan. In the show cause, it has been said that Senator Gurdeep Singh should explain why he did not indicate the quorum in the House. And why did not oppose the resolution of postponement of elections?

A written reply has been sought from Senator Gurdeep Singh within 3 days and it has been further said that action will be taken if Senator Gurdeep Singh does not reply or his reply is not satisfactory.

Senator Gurdeep Singh was present in the House during the passage of the resolution to postpone the elections.

It should be noted that the Upper House (Senate) passed the resolution to postpone the general elections to be held on February 8 in the country by majority vote.

When the resolution was approved in the Senate, 14 members of the House were present under the direction of Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani. Independent senator from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dilawar Khan presented the resolution to postpone the election.

The proposal was opposed by Muslim League-N member Afnanullah, while PTI Senator Gurdeep Singh and PPP member Bahramand Tangi said nothing.
