Islamabad: 14 members were present in the Senate at the time of approval of the resolution to postpone the general elections on February 8.


Independent Senator Dilawar Khan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presented the resolution to postpone the election, the resolution was supported by BAP members and FATA member Hidayatullah while Senators Kahida Babar, Prince Umar, Naseebullah Bazai, Hilalur Rehman, Manzoor Kakar, Samina were present in the meeting. Apart from Zehri, Sana Jamali, Hidayatullah, Kamal Ali Agha, PTI Senator Gurdeep Singh, PPP member Behramand Tangi and Muslim League (N) member Afnanullah were also present.

The resolution to suspend the elections was presented twice in the House. When the resolution was presented, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Murtaza Solangi, was not present in the House. The House approved, Murtaza Solangi also opposed the resolution to postpone the election, when the resolution was presented for the second time, Gardeep Singh opposed the resolution.


On this occasion, Senator Hidayatullah said that suicide is forbidden, there is a difference between suicide and bravery, our bodies have fallen, we are not against the election, everyone has gone out and now they are saying that we will fight the election, we want the election. May no one's blood be shed.


Meanwhile, Senator Shahadat Awan and Palwasha Khan of People's Party reached the House, Senator Prince Umar said that we support this resolution, our organizations are making sacrifices, we are participating in the election from Quetta, the temperature is negative there, the election. The commission will decide better.


Senator Manzoor Kakde said that we are living there, gas is coming out of Dera Bugti, every factory in Punjab is getting gas, the people of Dera Bugti are not getting gas, they are ready for elections, but the people are at the mercy of the wave of terrorism.
