A 2-member bench headed by Justice Adnan Chaudhry of the Sindh High Court heard the application of Firdous Shamim, during which the objector Hasan Sabir took the position that the Election Tribunal ignored the important legal points, it is necessary to state the affiliation of the party in the affidavit. Firdous Shamim Naqvi did not.
The objector said that when wrong information has been given in the affidavit itself, how will the papers be accepted? Without the party certificate, the election symbol cannot be obtained, so the decision of the election tribunal should be declared null and void.
The court rejected the objection of the objector and rejected the application against approval of nomination papers of Firdous Shamim.
It should be noted that the Election Tribunal had accepted Firdous Shamim Naqvi's appeal against the decision of the Returning Officer and restored his nomination papers.
