Legends of Pakistan and India former cricketers Wasim Akram and Gautam Gambhir have advised Babar Azam to leave the leadership of the team in the Pakistan Super League to improve.

In a recent conversation with a local sports platform, Wasim Akram gave advice to Babar Azam, stressing that as an elite player, he should focus on playing, scoring runs and enjoying the game.

He said that 'I gave an idea to Babar Azam a few years ago not to captain in league cricket. You are a big player, take your money, play the game, score runs, go home, and then attend the next event'.

Wasim Akram said 'I told Babar that captaincy of Pakistan is fine, but captaincy in league cricket brings extra stress for no reason'.

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir agreed with Wasim Akram and said 'I had predicted Babar Azam to be the top scorer before the World Cup, but his performance was also affected by the pressure of the leadership.'

He further said that 'Babar's best abilities will be revealed after being freed from captaincy, now the fans will get to see a different Babar Azam on the field which no one has seen till date'.

Gautam Gambhir added that he won't get anything by winning the PSL, but if he concentrates on batting, he can make his name as the best batsman in the history of Pakistan. Will be seen showing the essence of abilities in cricket for 10 years.

It should be noted that after the end of the World Cup, on November 15, Babar Azam announced his resignation from the leadership of the Pakistan cricket team for the three-way format.
