Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami has opened his mouth on the issue of stopping himself while prostrating during the 33rd match in the World Cup.


In ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Mohammad Shami was named the highest wicket taker bowler who performed exceptionally well in the event.


In the match against Sri Lanka in the World Cup, the Indian team won by 302 runs. Shami played an important role in this victory, who took 5 wickets for his team, Mohammad Shami took five wickets for just 18 runs in 5 overs.


Shami, expressing his happiness for taking the fifth wicket, first looked to the sky and thanked him and then sat down and tried to do prostration, but he could not do so and avoided prostration, the video of which went viral on social media. So users expressed their views on it.


Now while talking to Indian journalist Vikrant Gupta on the occasion of an event, Mohammad Shami responded and said 'I am proud to be a Muslim and an Indian, if I wanted to do Sajdah, no one could stop me'.


Mohammad Shami said that he has never bowed out after taking 5 wickets in his career, he has taken 5 wickets before.


The fast bowler said, 'If I wanted to prostrate, I would have done it, what's the problem? If I need someone's permission even to perform Sajdah, then why should I stay in this country?'


He said if I want to do Sajdah, I can do Sajdah anywhere in India.
