Those who brought the country to this state should be held accountable: Nawaz Sharif
Lahore: Leader of Muslim League (N) Nawaz Sharif has said that some characters brought Pakistan to a standstill and those who brought the country to this state should be held accountable.
Addressing the meeting of party ticket candidates in Lahore, Nawaz Sharif said that we have been out of sight but very close to our hearts, we have not forgotten any of our friends and colleagues, we have always remembered them. Even today, we pray that Allah will take this nation out of difficulties.
He said that the nation saw a very difficult period in the last 4 years, the economy was better and development was at its peak during our period and the society was progressing in all respects during our period, but there were some characters who stopped the running Pakistan.
He said that the nation should realize that the economic disorder started from 2019 and by 2022, everything in the country was in shambles. During our period from 2013 to 2017, the country was developing, the good people were thrown out and the country was handed over to the clumsy. Talks started in 2017 that (N) League is winning the next term too, I was told to say that load shedding will end in 6 months, I replied that load shedding cannot end in 6 months, how can I say that? said that I will not do anything that will damage the reputation, I said in the election campaign that I will end load shedding in five years, I did not want to cheat, deceive and defraud the nation.
The former prime minister said that every time we did good things but every time we were expelled, I should know why I was expelled in 93 and 99. We said that the Kargil war should not have happene, is that why was fired?, time is proving that we were right, that decision was also our right. When it comes to the country, we do not back down, we did nuclear explosions and Pakistan became strong, today no one has the courage to attack Pakistan or look at it with a blind eye, we have shown performance on every front, economic, defense and foreign. In our time, two Prime Ministers of India, Modi and Vajpayee, came to Pakistan, now we have to improve our relations with India and Afghanistan, we also have to improve our relations with Iran and China.
Nawaz Sharif further said that if Shahbaz Sharif did not come and take over, the country would have gone bankrupt, earlier there was a problem of load shedding, now the PTI government has also created the problem of electricity prices, today the entire salary of the poor people is spent on the electricity bill.
He said that why did you treat Pakistan this way? The people who brought the country to this state should be held accountable, they should be asked why they did this, this is our country, our generations have to live here, at least we should leave a good country for them.
