The Election Commission stopped the training of DROs and ROs

In view of the court order, the Election Commission has also issued a letter to the Election Commissioners of Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Balochistan on an emergency basis / file photo.

District and returning officers were no longer receiving continuous training from the Election Commission.


According to the spokesperson of the Election Commission, this training has been stopped by the Election Commission as per the order of the Lahore High Court.


The spokesman said that in view of the court order, the Election Commission has also issued a letter to the Election Commissioners of Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Balochistan on an emergency basis.


Training of District Returning Officers and Returning Officers was going on in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.


It should be noted that the Lahore High Court has suspended the notification of the Election Commission to conduct the general elections on February 8 through bureaucracy.


The court recommended the constitution of a larger bench on the petitions against holding the elections by the executive and Justice Ali Baqir Najafi sent the file to the Chief Justice.


Apart from this, yesterday, the Election Commission also banned the transfer posting of Deputy Commissioners and Additional Deputy Commissioners across the country.
