NAB reference of more than 1 billion rupees filed against Pervez and Monis Elahi

Lahore: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference of more than one billion rupees against former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and others.


In the NAB reference, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and his son Munis Elahi have been named as the main accused and it has been said that Parvez Elahi, Mons Elahi and other accused were found involved in damaging the national treasury.


According to the reference, Parvez Elahi and Mons Elahi illegally approved 116 development schemes, Parvez Elahi and Mons Elahi took bribes by awarding contracts to their favorite contractors, Parvez Elahi took bribes and kickbacks worth more than 744.5 million rupees.


The NAB reference stated that the accountant kept depositing kickbacks in the accounts of Mons Elahi and his family, Mons Elahi deposited 1 million 61 thousand Euros in his foreign bank account, Pervez Elahi's family members  deposited more than 304 million rrupees in there personal accounts. 


It has been said in the NAB reference that the accused were found guilty in the investigation, so the accountability court should conduct a trial and punish the accused.
