Gambling company's logo advertising issue resolved, Pakistan Australia match telecast restored on PTV

The issue of advertising of a gambling company's logo during the Pakistan-Australia Test series has been resolved after which the telecast of the Test match on state TV has been restored.


In the light of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) directives, after ensuring the ban on advertising of gambling companies and logos with similar names in Pakistan, the state television (PTV) between Pakistan and Australia, Melbourne. It has been announced to restore the broadcast of the test.


According to the notification issued by Pakistan Television, during the ongoing test series between Pakistan and Australia, the issue of advertisement of logos of gambling companies has been resolved. After which the broadcast of the Melbourne Test is being restored.


Official TV confirmed that the matter has been resolved and said that the laws imposed by the government of Pakistan will be strictly followed during broadcasting in Pakistan and appropriate strategies will be prepared if the laws are violated in the future.


It may be noted that PEMRA had earlier banned gambling websites and companies with similar names across the country, also known as surrogate advertising, due to which the preliminaries of the Melbourne Test were aired on state TV. The two-day game could not be shown.
