Islamabad: The Accountability Court approved the physical remand of former minister Fawad Chaudhry for another 6 days in the corruption case.

Islamabad Accountability Court Judge Mohammad Basheer heard the case against Fawad Chaudhry in construction projects in Jhelum. In this regard, after the 10-day physical remand was completed by NAB, the former minister was presented in court while his lawyer Faisal Chaudhry gave arguments on behalf of Fawad Chaudhry.

During the hearing, the NAB prosecutor said that earlier a 14-day physical remand was ordered, then a 10-day physical remand was ordered. The banking records have been ordered, which is suspected of fraud. The contractor has also been summoned on January 2.

The NAB prosecutor said that out of 16, 8 kanals of land were given to Fawad Chaudhry, the contractor had summoned 2 people related to the construction projects on January 2, 8 kanals in the name of Fawad Chaudhry. Therefore, another 10 days of physical remand should be given to complete the investigation.

The court reserved the decision on the NAB prosecutor's request for physical remand.

After some time, the accountability court approved Fawad Chaudhry's 6-day physical remand and handed him over to NAB.

The court said to complete the investigation and meet with the lawyers while presenting Fawad Chaudhry again in the court on January 5.
