Contempt Election Commission case: Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry could not be charged

Rawalpindi: Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry could not be charged in the contempt of election commission case.


The Election Commission team had reached Adiala Jail to hear the insult election commission case against founder PTI and former minister Fawad Chaudhry, where the case was heard, but the two accused could not be charged in the case.


Fawad Chaudhry's wife Haba Fawad told the media outside the jail that Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry have not been charged in the contempt of election commission case and further proceedings have been postponed until December 19.

On the other hand, speaking to the media outside the jail, Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Barrister Gohar said that the Election Commission has no authority to go to jails, the Election Commission is not a court, their job is to conduct elections.


He said that the Islamabad High Court has given the decision of open trial, but this open trial is not happening.
