Rani herself told this interesting story of her father-in-law to the Indian media in the past, Yash Chopra had locked the actress's parents in a room for refusing to work in the super hit film 'Sathiya'.


Rani Mukherjee said that Yash Chopra offered me to act in 'Sathiya' which I declined and this message was conveyed to her through my parents Ram Mukherjee and Krishna Mukherjee.


The actress said, "When my parents went to convey this message to Yashji, he locked them in the room for my own benefit to convince me. Yash Chopra said that he will make this film only if I act in it." Will agree.


Rani revealed in the interview that when the film 'Majh Se Dosti Karo Gi' was released in 2002 and it did not work, I rejected every offer that came after that, I did not do any work for 8 months. I was just sitting at home and my mother used to say that you are crazy.


The actress said that at that time it was also mentioned in the magazines that Rani's career was over etc., which I had no problem with.


He said, "Fortunately Saathiya came in my life which I refused to do. When my parents went to tell Yash Chopra that Rani was not interested in this film, Yash ji called me and said son don't do this. Accept the offer or I will not leave your parents, let them stay in the room and not open the locked door.


Rani Mukherjee said, I am grateful to Yash Chopra for forcing me to do this film.


It should be noted that Yash Chopra worked with Rani as a producer and director in a few films, he directed in Veer Zaara.


The filmmaker died on 13 October 2012, Rani married his son Aditya Chopra in 2014, the couple had a daughter in 2015.
