US keeps pushing for ceasefire to free Israelis: Joe Biden

Washington: US President Joe Biden has said that the ceasefire in Gaza was made possible by US efforts.


In a statement, the American president called the release of the hostages a start and said that he is happy that 13 Israelis have been freed and reached their loved ones. The effort was to free more than 50 Israelis in the first phase. The 13 Israeli hostages released on Friday  including women.


While discussing the possibility of extending the temporary ceasefire in Gaza, the US President said that it is time to work on a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine. The leaders of the region have been spoken to on the phone for a ceasefire.


He said that the US kept pushing for a ceasefire so that the Israelis could be released.


On the other hand, Jordan's foreign minister said that we have clear demands to stop the barbaric war in Gaza.


 The prime ministers of Belgium and Spain criticized Israel for the destruction in Gaza, after which the Israeli foreign minister summoned the ambassadors of both countries to protest.
