The Punjab government has made it mandatory to wear masks for a week across the province.

The caretaker provincial government has issued a notification of mandatory wearing of masks throughout the province, in which it has been said that every person leaving the house must wear a mask from November 20 to 26.

In this regard, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that prioritizing health is a collective responsibility and the decision to wear masks was taken considering the deteriorating air quality.

On the other hand, many cities of Punjab, including Lahore, Faisalabad and Gujranwala, had a dangerous situation of air pollution even on the holiday.

At 9 am, the number of particulate matter was recorded at 406 in Lahore, 314 in Faisalabad and 254 in Gujranwala.

It should be noted that due to smog yesterday, smart lockdown was implemented in 10 districts of Punjab and educational institutions were closed.
