Israel warns millions of Palestinians to leave southern Gaza
Earlier, Israel moved hundreds of thousands of people from north to south of Gaza / AP PhotoOn October 13, Israel threatened people living in northern Gaza to move to the southern part, saying that they would find protection there.
Now the Israeli army has asked the Palestinians who arrived in southern Gaza to evacuate from there as well.
The Israeli army dropped pamphlets warning Palestinians that the ground operation was being extended there.
Currently, there are more than 1.5 million people in southern Gaza, while aerial bombardment continues there on a daily basis.
Expanding the scope of ground operations there will worsen the situation for millions of people affected by the humanitarian crisis, who already lack access to food, water and electricity.
It is not clear where Israel has directed the men to move since Egypt is not ready to open its border.
However, an Al Jazeera report said that Israel warned people in the eastern part of Khan Yunis to move to the western part of the city, declaring it safe.
However, no part of Gaza is safe from Israeli bombardment and the entire strip is being targeted.
It should be noted that it has been 41 days since the Israeli aggression on Gaza and so far around 11,500 people have been martyred, most of whom are children and women.
More than 27 hundred people are missing and believed to be buried under the rubble of the buildings.
The report of the withdrawal from southern Gaza comes as the United Nations said water has become scarce in southern Gaza due to fuel shortages.
Tom White, director of the United Nations agency working for Palestine refugees, said that 2 central water plants and 76 wells have been closed in southern Gaza due to lack of fuel.
He further informed that due to non-availability of fuel there has been shortage of drinking water due to which cholera cases have increased by 40%.
On the other hand, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has said that the Israeli soldiers have turned the staff and other civilians into human shields at Al-Shafa Hospital, the largest hospital in Gaza.
It was stated in the statement that the operation of the Israeli army on al-Shafa hospital continues for the second day.
