Cipher case trial to be held in jail with open hearing: Special court verdict

Islamabad: The security report of SP Adiala Jail would be made public at the trial jail, where it will be heard in public, according to the Special Court of Official Secrets Act's ruling in the cipher case.


Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain is currently hearing the cipher case in the Islamabad judicial complex. The attorneys for Chairman PTI and FIA special prosecutors have appeared in court. while Imran Khan's sisters and Shah Mahmood's daughter were also present in the court.


At the beginning of the hearing, the lawyer Safi Salman Safdar said that the trial of the cipher case is scheduled for hearing today. We are hoping that Imran Khan will be produced, so far he has not been produced in the court, this is a record case, a case has never been carried out with such speed.


Meanwhile, Judge Abul Hasnat directed the court staff to present the record of the case.


During the hearing, the jail authorities submitted a report regarding the appearance of chairman PTI in the court, which the judge reviewed and said that the jail authorities say that they cannot produce Imran Khan.


SP Adiala Jail letter to court

FIA Special Prosecutor Shah Khawar read a letter that Superintendent Adiala Jail wrote to the court.


The letter states that PTI Chairman cannot be produced in the court due to security reasons, Islamabad Police has written a letter for additional security, it was told that PTI Chairman has serious security concerns.


Superintendent Adiala Jail has also attached the report of Islamabad Police with the jail report.


Lawyer Safai objection to SP Jail's letter

In the letter of SP Adiala Jail, the lawyer Safai said that there was no terrorist incident in Islamabad, Chairman PTI will have to appear in the court today. On the report of which intelligence agencies, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail did not submit to the Chairman PTI, I have appeared in court with Imran Khan in 50 to 60 cases.

Meanwhile, lawyer Salman Safdar asked to read the letter of SP Adiala Jail, on which the judge said that see the first page, other pages are confidential.

Lawyer Salman Safdar requested PTI chairman to appear before the court by 2 o'clock, on which the judge said that he will pass an order on the matter.


Later, after hearing the arguments of the parties, the court reserved the decision regarding the appearance of Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood, which will be pronounced after some time.
