Peshawar: Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan passed away.


Yesterday, Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Azam Khan was transferred to a private hospital due to his ill health, but he could not be discharged.


According to the medical staff, Azam Khan was suffering from various diseases, he was suffering from fever and diarrhea due to which he did not attend the meeting of the provincial cabinet yesterday.



Azam Khan's funeral prayer will be offered at his Abadai village in Charsadda today at 3:30 pm.


Azam Khan, who studied law from Peshawar University, was a retired bureaucrat and also served as Assistant Commissioner and Commissioner. Azam Khan has also held positions as secretary and chief secretary for a number of ministries.


It should be remembered that Azam Khan was nominated by the opposition leader after the collapse of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and when this name was put before the former Chief Minister Mehmood Khan, he immediately appointed Azam Khan as the Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. approved and then Azam Khan was sworn in as caretaker chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 21 January 2023.


A brother of Azam Khan, Abbas Khan, has been the IG of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while a brother, Shuja Khanzada, has been the Interior Minister of Punjab. Apart from this, former MPA Taj Muhammad Khanzada, Gohar Ayub and Umar Ayub are also his close relatives.
