Popular social networking site X (Twitter) has decided to charge a one-dollar annual subscription fee from new users to its platform.

According to media reports, Twitter has launched a new program in certain countries under which new users coming to the platform are being charged a fee of one dollar per year.

According to the report, the name of the program is 'Not a Boot', under which users in New Zealand and the Philippines are currently being charged a subscription fee of one dollar per year for creating a new account on Twitter.

When this program is launched worldwide, all new Twitter users will be able to post (tweet) on the platform after paying a subscription fee of one dollar and will be able to contact other users. They will not be charged this fee if they are on Twitter.

The purpose of this one-dollar subscription fee is to eliminate bot accounts on X and limit the activities of bot accounts on the platform. According to X, the purpose of this new program is 'not to make a profit'.

After subscribing to the Not a Boot program, new users who unsubscribe will only be able to read other users' posts on the platform and only view content including videos.

X says it will release the results of the program soon, but users are concerned about whether the program will actually eliminate bot accounts from the platform. Or not.

On the other hand, X owner Elon Musk indicated last month that his company may charge subscription fees to all users, but the decision has not yet been implemented and is currently being tested on a very limited scale. .
