During the ongoing war between the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and Israel, the bombing of Gaza by the Israeli air force is still ongoing, while the most senior American general who supervises the American forces in the Middle East, Michael Eric, has arrived in Israel on an unannounced visit.


The ongoing war between Hamas and Israel has entered the 11th day and on Monday night, the Israeli Air Force targeted various targets in Gaza, while Hamas also fired hundreds of missiles towards the Israeli capital Tel Aviv and Ashkelon.


Southern Gaza


The number of Palestinians killed in overnight airstrikes by Israel in the southern Gaza Strip has risen to 71, mostly women and children.


According to local media, hundreds of people were also injured during the bombing.



The Israeli Air Force said it carried out more than 200 strikes overnight in the Gaza Strip.


Claimed by the Israeli Air Force


The Israeli Air Force has also claimed to have killed Osama Mezini, a senior leader of Hamas.


In a statement released by the Israeli Air Force on the social media platform X, it said it had killed a senior Hamas leader, Osama Mizzini, who presided over the Gaza Strip's Shura Council for Hamas.


It should be noted that Hamas has not yet issued any statement in response to the Israeli claim.


Claim of Al-Qassam Brigades


Between 200 and 250 Israeli citizens have been claimed hostage by Hamas.


Abu Obeidah, a spokesman for Hamas' military wing Al-Qassam Brigades, said the group had taken between 200 and 250 hostages, while 200 were with the group and the rest were with various factions.


Abu Obaidah said that the hostages are being treated well according to Islamic teachings.


He also said that we confirm that 22 hostages have been killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes.


Head of US Central Command


The head of the US Central Command, General Michael Eric Karella, has also arrived in Israel on an unannounced visit.


Regarding his visit, General Eric said that the purpose of his visit is to ensure that Israel has the necessary things to defend itself.


Russian resolution rejected


The resolution submitted by Russia to the United Nations Security Council regarding the ceasefire was rejected.


The resolution called for a humanitarian ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, as well as the release of prisoners held in Gaza and the safe evacuation of civilians.


Deaths


According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 2,670 Palestinians have been martyred and 9,600 people have been injured, many of whom are in serious condition, as a result of Israel's attacks in the fighting that began on October 7.
