Israel admits to intelligence failures in advance warning of Hamas attacks
A week after Hamas launched attacks on Israel, a senior Israeli official has now admitted to a mistake in an intelligence assessment that shocked the Zionist state.
On the morning of October 7, the Palestinian resistance organization Hamas breached the Gaza border barrier and launched attacks targeting southern Israeli communities and military bases.
According to the Arab media report, a security advisor named Zachi Hanegbi was asked during a press briefing whether the Israeli intelligence agencies did not find out about this attack.
In response, he admitted that it was his mistake and reflected the mistakes of all those whose job it was to analyze intelligence reports.
"We believed that Hamas would have learned from the past and especially from the 2021 war," Zachi added.
Also at the press briefing, Zachi ruled out negotiations for any prisoner exchange deal with Hamas, saying there is no way to negotiate with the enemy we have sworn to eliminate.
