Cyclone Tej is predicted to move towards Pakistan, alert issued

The storm is 1750 km south of Gwadar and 1810 km southwest of Karachi: Meteorological Department

KARACHI: The Meteorological Department has predicted that the new Cyclone Tej in the south-west of the Arabian Sea will move towards Pakistan.


The Meteorological Department says that a new cyclone in the Arabian Sea is moving towards Pakistan.


In view of the threat of cyclone, PDMA Balochistan has issued an alert in which the Deputy Commissioners of Gwadar, Lasbela and Hub have been directed to take immediate action.


According to the Meteorological Department, the storm is 1750 km south of Gwadar and 1810 km southwest of Karachi.


According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclone will increase in the next 24 hours from Salalah, Oman, which does not pose much of a threat to Pakistan.
