It should be noted that Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi are currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail in the cipher case.
What is cipher matter?
Chairman PTI Imran Khan had created a conspiracy narrative against his government based on the messages or ciphers of the Pakistani ambassador to the US, in which Imran Khan had claimed that the US had a hand in the overthrow of his government, but national security. In the meeting of the committee, the position of the PTI government regarding the cipher has been denied.
In addition, a recording of Imran Khan discussing the cipher with his former secretary Azam Khan was leaked. Imran Khan could be heard saying, "Now we have only to play—not to name America, just play this." Azam Khan retorted, "I was thinking that a meeting should be held over this cipher," stating that "this date was already there."
Subsequently, the Federal Cabinet assigned the FIA the task of conducting the inquiry.
Azam Khan was the Principal Secretary to the then Prime Minister Imran Khan during the PTI regime and was considered very close to the Prime Minister.
In reference to the cipher, former DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Babar Iftikhar stated that rumors and incorrect information were disseminated in an effort to obtain political advantage.
