Chairman PTI Imran Khan challenged the indictment process by the special court in the Islamabad High Court in the cipher case.

Chairman PTI filed the petition through lawyers Salman Safdar and Khalid Yusuf, plaintiff Yusuf Naseem Khokhar and the state were made parties to the petition.

It has been argued in the petition that the trial court framed the charge in haste, the trial also wants to complete in haste, proceeding with the trial in haste will affect the fundamental constitutional rights. There is no directive from the High Court to complete the trial on a daily basis or to complete it quickly.

According to the text of the petition, the trial cannot proceed in the absence of the cipher telegraph as the central evidence, the Official Secrets Act order of October 23 should be set aside, the charge should be framed seven days after distribution of the trial copy as per the law. But the trial court did not consider the legal requirement.
