A significant drop in smartphone sales worldwide

A report said about this

Global smartphone sales declined for the 9th consecutive quarter due to inflation, economic issues and other reasons.

A report by Counterpoint Research stated that the sales of smartphones during July to September 2023 saw a decline of 8 percent compared to the same period last year.

Smartphone sales rose 2 percent during the third quarter compared to April-June, likely due to the introduction of the iPhone 15 series in September.

During this period, Samsung was the largest smartphone seller with a market share of 20 percent, while Apple was the second largest with a market share of 16 percent.

3 Chinese companies are also among the top 5 companies selling the most phones.

During July to September, North America, Europe and other markets saw a significant decline in smartphone sales, while demand for the devices increased in the Middle East and Africa.

According to the report, 2023 is going to be the worst year for smartphone sales in a decade.

Earlier in 2020, the demand for smartphones dropped significantly during the coronavirus pandemic, but the situation improved somewhat in 2021.
