The government has prepared a comprehensive plan to increase domestic IT exports and develop the telecom sector, special centers will be established to train 1 million freelancers in the country, smart devices including mobile phones will be manufactured in Pakistan, digital Economy, establishment of special technology zones, construction of telecom and cloud infrastructure are also part of the proposed plan.


A comprehensive plan was prepared to take IT exports from $2.6 billion to $15 billion. The government plans to set up technology zones and invest in telecom infrastructure, cloud infrastructure will be built.


According to the report, it has been decided to ensure implementation of the proposed digital economy plan, infrastructure sharing framework and ecosystem master plan for IT sector development, using the platform of Special Investment Facilitation Council. The plan's execution will be guaranteed.


According to the document obtained by SAMAA, smart devices including mobile phones will be manufactured in Pakistan, the goal is to train 10 lakh freelancers in the IT sector, freelancing centers will be established, and an additional 2 lakh as a long-term plan. High-tech IT human resources will be developed.


According to the report, a draft regulation for smartphone financing will be prepared by next month, a committee consisting of experts will also be formed to review the artificial intelligence policy.


The document states that it is proposed to give industrial power tariff to the telecom industry for the next 3 to 5 years, IT companies will be registered in special economic zones, events will be organized under the Digital Foreign Direct Investment Initiative.


According to the officials, participation in international IT expos, conferences and trade shows will be ensured, telecom tribunal will be established to resolve disputes, it has also been decided to improve the quality of IT graduates.
