China ready to help Pakistan overcome short-term economic difficulties

ISLAMABAD: The Chinese ambassador says that China is ready to help Pakistan overcome its short-term economic difficulties.


Addressing the China National Day ceremony in Islamabad, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zhidong said that they are ready to build an upgraded version of CPEC, CPEC is becoming a symbol of Pakistan-China friendship in every difficulty.


He said that China is looking forward to discussions with Pakistan on seeking cooperation and joint projects, while it is also ready to help to overcome short-term economic difficulties.


On this occasion, the Chinese ambassador also expressed his determination to work to balance development and security.


Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani said that with the completion of CPEC, the entire region will move towards development and prosperity.


Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi said that China has opened a new path from darkness to light, from backwardness to development.


On the other hand, the report on China by the US Department of State's Global Engagement Center has claimed that China has tried to occupy Pakistan's information space by creating a censorship operation.


The Global Engagement Center's report was released by James Rubin, the center's special envoy, who said the Chinese initiative was aimed at monitoring the information space and making changes accordingly.The report also claims that Chinese actions are aimed at undermining the security and safety of the US and its allies.
